Abstract
The purpose of this paper was to explain the vocational education for the youth with special education needs in the U.S.A. This paper looks into several cases to explain how American special education students receive vocational education, and reviews legal and institutional supportive systems such as School-to Work Opportunities Act(STWOA), Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act(IDEA) and Americans with Disabilities Act(ADA) as well as outlines several vocational education programs such as CHOICE, TASSEL, and TransCen. As a result, this paper points out four lessons from the American examples:(1)legal and institutional support through seamless links among related institutions, both horizontally and vertically; (2)enough experts for effective vocational education and career guidance; and (3) accessibility and fairness be supported career information both legally and institutionally though increasing in aid engineering and conveniences as supportive tools for vocational education and career guidance.
