Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of risk-taking climate on radical creativity and incremental creativity and to identify mediating effect of creative process engagement, external networking behavior and moderating effect of managerial risk-taking. 370 employees participated in the survey and used structural equation to analyze the data. Following are the result of study: First risk-taking climate had a positive impact only on radical creativity and creative process engagement, external networking behavior mediate the relationship of risk-taking climate and radical, incremental creativity. Second, on low managerial risk-taking group, there was no relationship between the risk taking climate and radical creativity and mediating effect of external networking behavior. These results mean that active creative cognitive processes and external exploration strategies are required in common to express radical and gradual creativity. And organization's risk-taking climate and the leader's risk-taking tendency must be supported for radical creativity.
