Abstract

This study sheds light on the emotional formation mechanism underlying 'Emotional Durability' through both theoretical discussion and case-based analysis. Focusing on 'Attachment' as a core factor, the study examines how it forms through the interaction between maker and user, with an emphasis on CMF (Color, Material, Finishing) elements. Wabi-sabi (W.S) and Material Culture of Design (MCD) are adopted as aesthetic frameworks for emotional elicitation, and are conceptually linked through Tabula Scripta (T.S), which frames the surface as a “recording tablet” and the maker or user as the “pen.” Based on this structure, four hypotheses (H1–H4) are developed according to maker–user relational types, and product cases are analyzed across implementation methods, recording subjects, and temporal conditions. The results show that surface changes act as sensory stimuli, and attachment emerges not as a transient emotional response but as a repeated affective structure shaped through memory and identity mediated by surface traces over time.
