Abstract
As collaboration between designers and developers becomes more prevalent, the use of online collaboration tools to support efficient teamwork is expanding. This study categorized key functions of such tools using the Competing Values Framework (CVF) and applied Importance–Performance Analysis (IPA) to evaluate their effectiveness. Core functions such as real-time communication, task Hand-off, role assignment, and responsibility designation were found to be highly important but rated low in satisfaction, highlighting the need for prioritized improvement. In contrast, functions such as activity logs, version history, focus timers, achievement badges, and gamification— features that provide emotional support or enhance transparency—were rated low in both importance and satisfaction, suggesting that they require long-term reconsideration rather than short-term improvement. The findings of this study provide a useful basis for identifying the priority of collaboration tool functions from the perspectives of designers and developers, diagnosing their effectiveness in real collaboration contexts, and offering practical insights for setting future directions in the development and improvement of collaboration tools.
