Abstract
This study seeks to find out what open source software developers at the individual level are contributing to ongoing motivation for community involvement. In previous studies, it was suggested that the motivation for participation at the individual level was internal / external motivation, political / ideological motivation, and a good technical environment and work style. It is doubtful whether this perceived instrumentality affects the intention of continuous participation through organizational citizenship behaviors such as altruistic behavior and organizational adaptive behavior. In other words, it is to check whether individual motivation for participation influences spontaneous behavior for the development of organization. As a result of the study, it can be seen that only political / ideological motivation affects affirmative action and it leads to the intention of continuous participation. Organizational adaptive behavior was positively influenced by external motivation but did not lead to continued participation. The implication is that the altruistic participatory atmosphere like the political / ideological motive should be preceded and formed.
