본 연구는 1998~2016년『가계동향조사』자료로써 생산가능연령대의 유배우가구를 식별한 뒤, 소비함수로부터 도출한 회귀추정식에 적용하여 유배우가구 여성의 경제활동 참여가 가구지출 구조와 비중에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 취업여성가구는 비취업여성 가구에 비해 식료품 및 비주류음료 지출액이 낮고 음식·숙박비 지출액이 높으며, 두 지출항목을 서로 대체하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 주거 및 수도광열비 항목은 취업여성 가구에서 낮고 여성의 소득에는 영향을 받지 않는데, 이는 집에 있는 시간과 취사시간과 밀접하며, 고정비용 성격을 가지기 때문이다. 셋째, 취업여성 가구의 통신비와 교육비는 높은 반면, 오락문화비는 낮게 나타났다. 이상에서 여성의 경제활동 참여로 인한 시간부족과 소득증가라는 두 경로에 의해 가구의 지출항목별 구성이 변하고 지출액 자체도 달라질 수 있음이 실증되었다고 볼 수 있다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the effect of housewives, participating in labor market, on the structure and shares of their household expenditure items with both 1998-2016『Household Income and Expenditure Survey』. Empirical results are as follows: first, households with an employed housewife have lower than those without her in the food expenditures, but higher in restaurant-related items. Substitution between two items has been strengthened as their earned income gets higher. But it does not mean that their economic status in households has been enhanced. An average difference between two types of household disappears gradually over years. Second, housing, water, electricity and other fuels expenditure in households with working housewife have been low, meaning a fixed cost. Third, it is high in the communication and educational expenses of households with working housewife, but low in the entertainment․culture expenses, household equipment, health․medical care and entertainment․culture. In conclusion, it can be said that structures of expenditure items and their shares to total expenditure in households with working housewife can be changed from two paths, i.e., time shortage and increase in the labor income.
