<덴동어미화전가>에 나타난 욕망의 시간성

Abstract

This paper explicates how Deongdong-eomi can overcome her tragic fate to share enlightenment and joy with those who hear her stories, and how this can be sublimed as solidarity. The female desire in patriarchy is composed around the husband. The fact that Dendong-eomi have been married 4 times means that she has tried to persistently maintain the structure of desire. For this, the current paper has analyzed the narrative of Deondong-Eomi Hwajeonga concentrated especially on ‘betweenness.’ Here, ‘betweenness’ means the time from a husband’s death to getting a new husband, with which we can explore how a time when she has lived with a husband collapses and another time can be possible. Dendong-eomi has gone so far that having gone through for ‘betweens’ she has finally escaped from the structure of desire that is concentrated on husband. Hearing of her stories, women are pleased with great realization. This has been developed into the force that builds the solidarity. Furthermore, the formation, enjoyment, and reproduction of text give continuity to this solidarity to construct a literary community in terms of sympathy.
