초록
The world renowned traditional fabric Hansanmosi and the weaving of it is an Important Intangible Cultural Heritage of Korea and is also listed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. China's Wanzaixiabu is a national Important Intangible Cultural Heritage and Japan's Echigojofu Ojiyachijimi is also a national Important Intangible Cultural Heritage and listed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. These three types of ramie are made differently depending on the environment and culture. A few of the main characteristics of Hansanmosi is that the spinning is done on the lap and it is woven into fine ramie. Wanzaixiabu is made more for export than domestic use, therefore large quantities are made with variety of techniques and materials. Echigojofu Ojiyachijimi has crimped appearance, various products and is bleached in snow embodying regional features. Many ways to revitalize the Hansanmosi have been suggested. Food and clothing using Hansanmosi have been developed to help the advance in related industry. Based on the comparison of ramie from the three different countries, this study offers a diversification of Hansanmosi concentrating on the weaving techniques; suggesting variations in the weaving loom, dyeing methods, and materials and also to provide the various standards of Hansanmosi to promote utilization. However, such diverse methods must be carried out in parallel to the proper passing down of Hansanmosi.
