본 연구의 목적은 단기청소년쉼터 상담사의 업무 경험이 무엇인지를 이해하고 그 의미와 본질을 알아보는데 있다. 이를 위해 단기청소년쉼터 상담사 8명을 심층면접을 하였으며, Giorgi의 기술적 현상학적 방법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 단기청소년쉼터 상담사의 업무 경험의 구성요소는 “긴장의 연속”, “상담에 대한 의욕저하”, “열악한 환경”, “전문상담사로서의 가능성 발견” 등으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 청소년쉼터 상담사의 청소년 문화에 대한 교육의 필요성, 업무환경 개선의 필요성, 가출청소년의 사회적 인식 향상 등을 제언하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to understand and find out the meaning and essence of work experiences on short-term youth shelter counselors. For this purpose, eight counselors working at short-term youth shelter were proceeded with the in-depth interview. This study chose Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenology as a analysis method. The results of the study are as follows. The categories about counselor’s experience appeared 50 meaningful units, 12 sub-components and 4 components. The 4 components of experience on short- term youth shelter counselors were ‘continuity of tension’, ‘decline in enthusiasm of counseling’, ‘poor surroundings’, and ‘discovery of potentialities as a professional counselor’, Based on these, this study’s recommendations were the necessity of training about the youth culture for working quality of youth shelter counselors, the need to improve the work environment, and improvement of social awareness about runaway youths.
