Abstract
The purpose of this paper lies in providing the linking algorithm of ‘-ey/-lul’ case alternation construction based on the linking theory, which links the syntactic representation to the semantic representation. The algorithm provided in this paper is designed in the form of a script in order to be directly used for natural language parsing. In addition, in order for natural language processing, we chose the Meaning-Text Theory used in Mel’čuk(1988) for the syntactic and the semantic representation. The way of dealing with ‘-ey/-lul’ case alternation in this paper is as follows. First, we made a demarcation between one making no semantic difference and one making overt semantic difference. Second, in case of the latter, making use of the semantic information that can be offered from the semantic network of EuroWordNet that the predicate and it’s preceding nominals give, we link the syntactic representation of the construction to the semantic representation of it and vice versa.
