가정과교육의 핵심 개념과 세 행동체계를 통합한 교육과정 설계

초록

본 연구의 목적은 가정학의 역사적 맥락에서 중요시 여겨지던 핵심 개념을 도출하여 가정교과에서 추구하는 가치를 높이고 가정학에서 다루어졌던 핵심 개념을 세 행동체계와 통합하여 가정교과의 내용 요소들의 분절성을 개선한 가정과 교육과정 설계안을 개발하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 과거와 현재에 이루어진 미국과 우리나라에서의 가정교과 교육과정 논의에 대한 고찰을 통하여 시사점을 도출하고, 현행 교과서와 전공서적을 통하여 가정교과의 내용체계를 살펴보고, 통합 지향적 국내⋅외 교육과정 선례를 검토하였다. 이를 통하여 가정학의 하위 영역에서 공통적으로 중요하게 다뤄지는 핵심개념을 파악하였다. 핵심개념은 7개의 핵심개념(인간발달/생애주기/복지, 대인관계, 관리, 의사결정, 가치, 문화적 관심사, 사회적관심사/지속가능/정책/안전)으로 범주화하였다. 초안은 가정학의 식, 의, 주, 가족, 소비 영역과 가정학의 핵심 개념이 스트랜드되는 2차원적인 형태로 제안되었다. 이 초안은 도출된 핵심개념들이 가정과교육에 타당한가와 핵심개념들이 현재와 미래의 가정과교육에 어떻게 기여할 수 있는가에 대하여 전문가 집단으로부터 그 타당성을 검토 받아 수정·보완되었다. 그 결과 통합 지향적 교육과정의 특색을 더 강조하고, 기존의 가정교과에서 다루어졌던 식, 의, 주, 가족, 소비 영역에서의 분절된 주제중심 교육과정의 틀과 차별성을 두기 위하여 핵심개념과 세 행동체계(기술적 행동체계, 의사소통적 행동체계, 해방적 행동체계)가 스트랜드되는 설계안이 제안되었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to illustrate home economics curriculum design plan, which improves the fragmentation of content structure through integration of core concepts that has been considered important in historical context of home economics and three systems of action. Initial examination on the previous and current home economics curriculum in the United States and Korea, content structure of home economics from the current textbooks and academic books and literature, and successive case of precedents of integration-oriented domestic and overseas curricula was carried. From the initial examination, seven core concepts which have commonly dealt with importance in sub-areas of home economics were derived. The phase 1 curriculum design was developed in a two-dimensional matrix intersecting five areas of home economics (food, clothing, housing, family, and consumption) and seven core concepts of home economics. This design plan was revised and refined based on the deliberation with expert groups as to whether the derived core concepts were valid for home economics education and how the core concepts could contribute to current and future advancement of home economics education. Based on the deliberation on phase 1, the phase 2 curriculum design was finally developed intersecting core concepts (human development, interpersonal relationship, management, decision making, value, cultural concern, and social concern) and three systems of action (technical action, communicative action, critical action) to assign more importance to characteristics of integrated curriculum and ensure differentiation from the subject-oriented conventional home economics curriculum.
