Abstract
Eunkyoung Jo, Sankyu Seo. 2006. A study on the usage of 'geugeot' for reference resolution. Korea Journal of Linguistics, 31-1, 143-162. Recently there are vigorous studies in natural language processing in the level of discourse. Hereupon, we explore referring expression 'geugeot' in the spoken corpus and classify its uses for reference resolution required in the discourse level language processing. The important information for reference resolution are which expression should be resolved, what types of phrasal unit are used as antecedent candidates, what types of semantic aspect are used to select antecedents, and How salience impacts could be served for ordering antecedent candidates. We show their quantitative characteristics and information which can be used in the process of reference resolution. (Yonsei University)
