Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the handedness and the change of the handedness by ‘threading the handneedle’ class considering the handedness. And a teaching method for ‘threading the handneedle’ according to the handedness was proposed. The handedness of the subjects were right handed 168 (93.9%), left handed 11 (6.1%) and two-handed 0 (0%), the average left handedness of Koreans was lower than 10~12%. On the basis of ‘two-handed’, the right-handed group, ‘always right-handed’ and ‘mainly right-handed’ group tend to hold the scissors in a right-handed manner. The left-handed group, ‘mainly the left hand’ and ‘always the left hand’ tended to hold the scissors in a left-handed manner. Although the hand holding the scissors when cutting the thread was one of the important factors in the classification of the handedness, the preferred handedness after class showed a 9.45% change in right handedness, a 36.4% change in two-handedness, a 29.2% change in left handedness. On the basis of ‘two-handed’, the right-handed group, ‘always right-handed’ and ‘mainly right-handed’ group tend to grab the threads in a right-handed manner. The left-handed group, ‘mainly the left hand’ and ‘always the left hand’ tended to grab the threads in a left-handed manner. Although ‘the hand holding the thread’ was one of the important factors in the classification of the handedness, the preferred handedness after class showed a 17.0% change in right handedness, a 42.9% change in two-handedness, a 23.4% change in left handedness. The difference of ‘the hand pulling the thread into the needle’ did not show a statistically significant difference before class in consideration of the handedness but after the class in consideration of the handedness, there was a statistically significant difference(p<.05). The preferred handedness after class showed a 16.6% change in right handedness, a 53.5% change in two-handedness, a 32.6% change in left handedness. The method of ‘threading the handneedle’, which has been suggested in textbooks so far, was an education for right-handed people. This suggests a method of ‘threading the handneedle’ that are not bound by the handedness. In this class, teach that there is no priority or superior grip and that you can choose a more comfortable one and thread the handneedle. It is believed that this education has shown the possibility that pre-primary teachers can educate various handedness of ‘threading the handneedle’ in future primary education sites.
