Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the necessity of dietary education from the establishment background, concept and definition, nature, component, and scope of food plan, examine the role and contents of dietary education in food plan by the foreign and domestic case analysis, and suggest practical tasks for dietary education in food plan. As a result of exploring the necessity of dietary education in the food plan, the food plan is established to solve the various functions of food and various problems surrounding food. In this regard, dietary education can play an important role in food plan. In addition, solution of food-related problems in the concept or definition of food plans, reduction of social costs, and social and environmental sustainability are the orientation and educational goals of sustainable dietary education. Since dietary education is part of a social policy that can contribute to the management and resolution of various dietary issues, it fits the nature of the food plan. Since the food plan is a plan for all areas related to food, dietary education should be included in the education area of ​​the food plan. As a result of analyzing domestic and foreign food plans that are well connected with dietary education, dietary education plans in foreign food plans presented with detailed contents and methods of implementation, and included not only school dietary education but also dietary education for adults and vulnerable groups. On the other hand, the dietary education plan of domestic food plans lacked the specifics of the project contents and actions, And there was no dietary education plan for the vulnerable groups in domestic food plans. In order for the dietary education to be properly implemented in the food plan, the contents, targets, and action plans of dietary education should be specified in the implementation plans, integrated food plans and strategies should be established between government departments, and public-private governance needs to be established. And dietary education content linked to food systems and extended to sustainable eating should be addressed.
