초록
Keeping pace with the trend of more reliance on children’s literature for language learning and instruction, this article reviewed a body of research related to children’s responses to literature. The purpose of this review is to grasp how elementary students interact with literature and how they make responses to literature. In this article, the following queries were mainly explored: (a) what types of responses children make during the interaction with literature and (b) how the context factor influences children’s responses to literature. To begin with the discussion about reconceptualizations of reading and response components, a range of response types were elicited through the analysis of primary relevant studies. In addition, the effect of teaching approach on children’s responses to literature and reader response meeting new literacies were thoroughly discussed.
