李鈺은 조선후기 인정세태를 빼어나게 담아낸 傳 작품들이 번역 소개되고, 한시집 俚諺이 발굴됨으로써 본격적인 연구가 시작되어 그간 다양한 연구 성과들이 축적되어 왔다. 그러나 작가적 중요도에 비해 그의 가계는 사마방목 자료 외에는 밝혀진 것이 없어 여전히 미진한 면이 많이 남아 있었다. 본고는 선원속보와 북보에서 이옥의 가계를 새로이 찾아 이를 통해 그의 가계를 보다 면밀히 고증하였다. 그 결과 이옥은 효령대군파로 고조 李起築부터 서얼이었고, 집안은 무반계로 기울었으며, 당색은 小北에 속했음을 밝히게 되었다. 그의 교유는 문체 문제로 인한 불명예 때문에 대단히 제한적이었는데, 대부분 성균관 재학 시절의 동기들이었고, 많은 이들이 소북계 문인들이었음을 확인하였다.또 필자는 그간의 조선후기 소품문 연구에 있어서 상대적으로 미흡하였던 明淸 소품의 영향 관계를 고찰하는 데 장기적인 목표를 두고, 본고에서 그 예비단계로 이옥이 접한 명청 소품서들의 실상을 고구해 보았다. 이를 통해 이옥이 동시기 여타 문인에 비해 명청 소품서들을 상당히 많이 접하였고, 또 이를 작품에서 숨김없이 그대로 드러내 놓았음을 확인하였다. 이옥이 읽은 명청 소품서 가운데는 특히 板橋雜記, 情史, 漢魏叢書 등에 주목하여 그 상관 관계를 논해보았다.
Abstract
With the translation of Yi Ok's outstanding literary works, such as chŏn(傳: short biographies) reflecting the actual world of the late Chosŏn and a collection of Chinese poems titled by Iŏn 俚諺, the studies of Yi Ok have been accumulated these days. Compared with his significance as an author, the materials about his lineage are not left except Samabangmok 司馬榜目. This study investigated his lineage in detail through the new written materials like Sŏnwonsokbo 璿源續譜 and Bukbo 北譜. As a result, the identity of Yi Ok was proved to be a member whose family line was inherited as the status of an illegimate son, belonging to the branch of Hyoryŏngdaegun 孝寧大君. Later, his family was degraded to the muban(武班: military party) and the political inclination was proved to be ‘sobuk 小北’. His companionship was very limited because of the disgrace due to his style. He was acquainted with the colleagues at Sŏngkyunkwan 成均館 and most of them were the literary men from sobuk. I intend to look into the mutual relation between short pieces in the late Chosŏn and ones in Myŏng and Chŏng dynasty, which has been neglected to be clarified, as a long-term goal. As the first stage, I examined the characteristics of the short pieces in Myŏng and Chŏng dynasty, which Yi Ok obtained at that time. I affirmed that Yi Ok met with more short pieces than any other literary man and he openly revealed this fact in his works. Among the short pieces from Myŏng and Chŏng dynasty Yi Ok read, I dealt with the correlation with his own works, focusing on Pankyojabki 板橋雜記, Chŏngsa 情史, and Hanwich'ongsŏ 漢魏叢書
