추사 김정희는 조선후기 실학자로서 금석학 및 서화에서 큰 업적을 이루었다. 그가 실학자로서 사상적 주장보다는 실사구시 정신을 바탕으로 금석고증과 서화에 깊은 관심을 가졌던 것은 이례적이다. 본고는 추사의 예술론 중에서 화론에 관한 분석을 시도하였다. 추사의 시론과 서론을 분석해 볼 때, 일반적인 시작법과 서법의 원리를 설명하는 것에 그치지 않는다. 본질적인 원리와 실제적인 적용의 문제를 적절하게 분배하여 체계적인 길을 제시하고자 하였다. 이것이 이른바 문경론이다.문경론은 어떤 목표를 설정하고, 그 목표에 도달하기 위해 거쳐야 할 단계를 말한다. 추사는 시론에서 소동파를 거쳐 두보에 이르는 이른바 由宋入唐의 문경을 제시하였다. 그리고 서론에서는 초당 삼대가를 거쳐 왕희지에 이르는 由唐入晉의 문경을 택하였다. 화론에서는 남종문인화를 선호하여 당의 왕유를 목표로 삼고 있다. 이처럼 추사의 예술론은 내용상으로 볼 때 모두 문경론으로 일관되어 있는데, 이는 예술의 역사적 맥락을 중시하며 창작의 근거를 반드시 고전에 두어야 한다는 存古정신에서 기인하고 있다.당의 왕유를 학화문경의 귀결처로 삼은 것은 그 시대와 결부하여 문학에서 시(詩)의 전형이 확립된 것과 밀접한 관련이 있다. 즉 시화선의 이치가 통한다는 전제 하에서 볼 때, 화의 경계와 시의 경계는 결국 별개일 수 없다는 논리가 가능하기 때문이다. 추사는 ‘詩中有畵 畵中有詩’의 경지를 학화문경의 귀결처로 삼았으며, 이를 실현한 이가 곧 왕유라는 것을 염두에 두었다.

And it recognized the Wangyou of the Dang country most. The Chusa the picture with poetry was similar, the poetry with the picture recognized the similar thing in the world where the dimension is high.
