한창기본 필사본 <별춘향전>에 대하여

Abstract

This study has been done to inform to academic circles the presence of Han, Chang-Ki manuscript Byeol-Chunhyang-jeon of 75 sheets, which belongs to Han, Chang-Ki. First of all I researches into the bibliography of this version. This book consists of 75 sheets, including its front and back covers, and 71 and half sheets as its contents. Each page has 12-13 lines and each line 17-24 letters. This version has long and boring narrative structure, and a few different contents from the other versions. Specially in the beginning of this version, there are many different stories, which can not be found in the other versions. For example, there is an original substance in the Chunhyang’s dream of going to Whangneung Grave. Mr. Lee got married in Seoul. After passing the state examination, he dreams that Dragon King’s daughter sent by two queens scolds him for forgetting his old beloved and eagerly searching for his fame. In the birthday party of the newly appointed statesman, Mr. Lee wrote a Chinese poem and sang a Song(Yeongsan) in drinking spirit. Mr. Lee, as a royal secret inspector, demanded Chunhyang to do a sexual service, but she refused his request and criticised him for not doing his duty. There is a folk picture painted in the Chunhyang’s room wall, in which Seongjin played with eight heavenly girls on the stone bridge, whose story can be found in the novel Ku-un-mong well-known in Chosun Period. The Han, Chang-Ki Byeol-Chunhyang-jeon includes both the elements of Block- printed of Jeonju narrative and Pansori narrative. But its whole contents shows us elements of Pansori narrative. And compared to other Pansori narratives, this version includes more abundant and glorious contents.
