‘한문 고전 읽기’ 과목 신설의 의미와 한문 고전 교육의 방향

Abstract

This article reveals the meaning of ‘classical Chinese’, which is the focus of the ‘Reading classics in Chinese characters’ subject newly established in the 2022 Chinese literature curriculum, and ‘traditional character and view of humanity’ and ‘pursuit of the public good’, ‘Attitude to know and preserve the value of nature and ecology’ looked at what should be kept in mind when learning. ‘Reading classics in Chinese characters’ involves learning from selected classics that can have a significant impact on our lives today among the writings produced in the tradition of the East Asian Chinese character culture, but looking at and thinking about them from various angles rather than focusing on ‘reading’ the original text. It is a subject designed to develop the power to do things and to serve as a reference for career exploration. It focuses on topics rather than sanctions and aims for integrated thinking. As rapidly move into the era of digital transformation, many changes are taking place in the field of education, not only in micro aspects such as educational content and methods, but also in macro and structural aspects of the overall education system and education policy. Therefore, rather than adhering to the traditional method of emphasizing knowledge acquisition through reading, teacher should focus on developing the capabilities required for future society to develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, collaboration skills, emotional skills, and decision-making skills. To achieve this, teacher must make efforts to objectively understand traditional values ​​and reflect the major agendas of modern society, such as human rights and ecology, in classes.
