오늘날 심각한 환경 문제 속에서 환경ㆍ지속가능발전 교육이 더욱 중요해지고 있다. 본 연구는 한문 교육이 이러한 시대적 요구에 부응하여 현대 사회에 필요한 교육적 가치를 실현하고 지속가능한 발전을 위한 역할을 수행할 수 있음을 보여주고자 한다. 본고는 2022 개정 교육과정을 기반으로 한문 교과와 환경ㆍ지속가능발전 교육의 연계 가능성을 분석했다. 특히, 한문 고전 자료에 담긴 선인들의 자연관을 활용해 환경 의식 함양을 위한 교육 방안을 모색하고, 한문교육의 환경 문제 해결 잠재력을 탐색했다. 전북 고산고등학교의 수업 사례에서는 고전 학습과 환경 정화 활동을 결합한 결과, 학습자들의 환경 보호 인식과 실천적 태도가 향상됨을 확인했다. 결론적으로, 한문교육이 환경ㆍ지속가능발전 교육을 통해 현대사회에 필요한 가치와 실천 방안을 제공하며, 지속가능한 발전에 기여할 수 있음을 입증하였다. 앞으로 다양한 적용 방안과 교수ㆍ학습 방법 개발, 장기적 성과 분석을 위한 지속적인 연구가 필요하며, 이는 교육 정책과 교사 연수의 중요한 자료가 될 것이다.
Abstract
In the face of severe environmental challenges, Environmental and Sustainable Development Education ESDE has become increasingly vital. This study aims to demonstrate that Classical Chinese education can respond to these contemporary demands by realizing essential educational values and contributing to sustainable development. This paper analyzes the potential for integrating Classical Chinese education with ESDE, based on the 2022 Classical Chinese curriculum. Specifically, we explored educational approaches to foster environmental awareness by utilizing the natural views of ancient scholars embedded in classical Chinese texts, and investigated Classical Chinese education's potential for addressing environmental issues. A case study of a Classical Chinese class at Gosan High School in Jeollabuk-do showed that combining classical learning with environmental clean-up activities enhanced students' environmental protection awareness and practical attitudes. In conclusion, this research proves that Classical Chinese education can provide values and practical solutions necessary for contemporary society through ESDE, thereby contributing to sustainable development. Further research is needed to explore diverse application methods, develop teaching and learning strategies, and conduct long-term performance analyses. This ongoing research will serve as crucial data for educational policies and teacher training.
