초록
Tense and aspect of the attributive form are different from that of the end form.In previous studies, research to the absolute tense and the relative tense in attributive verbs is few and discussion is notrefined. Therefore, this study reviews attributive verbs whether they are relative or absolute.Additionally, this study tries to refine the views and standards distinguishing between the absolute tense and therelative tense in Japanese attributive verbs. This study suggests 9 types of combinations of the time('past, present, and future') of the each main and attributive clause, respectively.Additionally, a type ofsentence is determined by a bundle of the predicates of the main clause, such as 'suruスル, sitaシタ,siteiruシテイル, and siteitaシテイタ' etc, when the attributive clause is the type of sitaシタ.On this basis, this study determines whether tense of that type is absolute or relative, and suggests the followingconclusions. In the case of 'sita - suru', and the event of 'past - present', it is relative.when the event is'past - future', it is absolute. But, when the event of the attributive clause is abstractive such as 'ikiru生きる', that clause has not any tense implication. In the case of the type as 'sita - sita', and the event of'past - past', it is relative when the event of the attributive clause is still progressing. When the event ofthe attributive clause is independent to that of the main clause, it is absolute. In the case of 'sita -siteiru', the event is 'past - present'.when the event of the attributive clause continues until the event ofthe main clause happens, it is relative.when the complex sentence contains any situational and conditionalwords, such as 'kyo今日', it is absolute. In the case of 'sita - siteita', the event is 'past - past'.when theevent of the attributive clause continues until the event of the main clause happens, it is relative.whenthe sentence contains words, such as 'kyo今日', it is absolute.
