This paper analyzed the Japanese and Korean Swan Maiden tales and revealed the role of " dogs " and who " dogs " are. The Swan Maiden tales was matched by a dog from the Gyeonu Jingnyeodo of Goguryeo Deokheung-ri tomb murals and constellation, the Korean tales. this paper examined the character of the dog in the Japanese and the Korean Swan Maiden tales. there are the dog of Jingnyo and dog of Gyun-woo in the Japanese Swan Maiden tales. Whoever the dog is, The dog is helping woman weaver’s husband to go to heaven. The dog that appears in the Korean Swan Maiden tales is the dog of woman weaver. The dog does not help woman weaver's husband rise to heaven. and No matter what you call woman weaver's dog is the blue sapsaree of A korean folk tale ‘bulgae’ and Procyon in the constellation, the dog of the Gyeonu Jingnyeodo of Goguryeo Deokheung-ri tomb murals.
