페루와 볼리비아의 관광 산업과 운영 개선 방안 연구

Abstract

I examine major tourism industry in Peru and Bolivia, which are representative countries of South America, and how to improve their operation. Peru is a major tourist destination in the South America with the Andes, deserts, jungles and the capital of the ancient Inca Empire. Bolivia’s economic conditions are not as good as other countries in Latin America, but it’s Natural beauty and Uyuni salt desert is a global tourism resources. These two countries are the outposts of travel to South America and the outstanding cultural heritage of the Incas and relatively inexpensive prices serve as a catalyst for attracting tourists from all over the world. In Peru, there are Machu Picchu, a world-famous ancient site, Lima, where ancient and modern buildings harmonized and Amantani island on Lake Titicaca, UNESCO-designated. On several islands of Lake Titicaca, the highest freshwater lake on Earth, indigenous people have been living their own way of life, which should be preserved. They have excellent cultural heritage and natural environment, but most tourist attractions seem to need to be organized as they are run mostly by private small travel agencies. These regions will be helpful to increase the income of the residents by organizing the system. Therefore, in order to develop the tourism industry of Peru and Bolivia, a systematic improvement plan based on the Machu Picchu model should be devised.
