충남 서산의 지역관광 특성과 개발방향에 관한 연구

본 연구는 충남 서산시의 지리적 배경, 관광자원, 지역관광 활성화를 위한 관광특성과 방향을 조사, 분석하였다. 연구수행을 위해 문헌연구와 사진 활용을 위한 현지조사를 실시하였다. 서산시는 우리나라 중서부, 충남 북서부에 위치하며, 동쪽으로 홍성, 예산, 당진, 서쪽으로 태안군과 서해에 접해 있다. 또한 평야와 구릉 그리고 개발 잠재력이 높은 해안을 포함해 총면적 740.48km2로 이루어져 있다. 서산시는 철새탐조와 산악을 중심으로 하는 자연관광자원, 마애삼존불, 해미읍성과 개심사 그리고 많은 문화재를 포함하는 역사·문화관광자원을 보유하고 있다. 지역관광 활성화를 위한 관광개발의 방향성은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 서산 9경의 관광브랜드화와 이미지 제고이다, 둘째, 지역이미지를 알리기 위한 관광전략이다. 세부적으로 생태관광 중심의 이미지 마케팅, 지역관광 콘텐츠의 재조명과 확충, 타 지역과의 연계 마케팅, 관광수요를 확대하기 위한 인프라 구축이 필요하다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to analyze to tourism characteristics and development strategies of Seosan city by examining geographical environments and distributions of its major tourism resources. In order to achieve the purpose, the researchers conducted the literature reviews and field surveys at the study area, Seosan is located in the northwestern part of Chungcheong-namdo, the mid-west area of Korea, and bounded by Hongseong, Yesan and Dangjin-gun to the east and Taean-gun and the Yellow Sea to the west. It has an area of 740.08km2 made up of plains and hill areas with a great potential as the western sea area is being developed. Seosan city has natural tourism resources such as migratory birds birldwatching places and several mountains. It has also historical and cultural resources such as Rock-carved triad buddha(National treasure), Haemi-eup Fortress(Historical Relics) and Gaesim-sa and other cultural assets. The results are as follows; First, Image-up of brand identity on ‘9 Views of Seosan’ is needed. Second, development strategies for strengthening regional tourism Image should be established; Especially, the eco-tourism focused image marketing, the review and expansion of regional tourism contents and the region related marketing between Seosan and other cities, and establishment of Infrastructures to increase tourists demands are included.
