이 연구는 2009 교육과정에 따라 간행된 2014년 초등학교 사회과부도의 역사이미지 분석이다. 사회과부도의 역사주제도는 지도, 그림, 사진 등을 역사이미지로 사용한다. 따라서 이 연구는 이미지가 문서와 마찬가지로 중요한 역사적 증거라는 전제 하에 역사주제도를 다룬 것이다. 재론의 여지없이 이미지가 나타내고자 하는 자료를 정확하게 또 효율적으로 사용하려면 문헌자료를 다룰 때처럼 원전비평이 있어야 한다. 이 연구에서는 역사주제도의 이미지를 둘러싼 배경이나 그 기능의 문제, 수사학적인 문제와 진위여부까지 다루었다. 이 분석의 결과 앞으로 사회과부도는 역사적 사고나 비판의식을 길러주기 위한 보다 완성도 높은 역사이미지를 제시해야 한다는 점을 확인했다.
Abstract
This article aims at the analysis of historical images in the elementary social studies atlas(2014) according to the curriculum in 2009. The historical images consists of maps, pictures, and photographies in the history thematic map. The essential proposition this article seeks to support is that historical images like texts are an important form of historical evidence. Needless to say, the use of the testimony of images raises many awkward problems. Images is difficult to translate their testimony into words. Thus, in this article the criticism of the historical images remains undeveloped, although, the testimony of images, like that of text, raises problems of context, function, rhetoric, recollection, and so on. In the future, we try to inquiry the new ways of using historical images.
