이 연구는 지방소멸위험지수의 변화가 지역의 음식점 수 증감에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 것이다. 지방소멸위험지수는 지역의 인구 특성에 의하여 도출된 값이다. 따라서 인구변화에 큰 영향을 받는 음식점의 개업과 폐업은 지방소멸위험지수와도 관련성이 높을 수밖에 없다. 분석 결과 지방소멸위험지수는 시군 단위에서는 음식점 수의변화와 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 그러나 읍면동 단위에서는 음식점 수와 지방소멸위험지수가 상관관계를 보였다. 특히, 음식점 수의 변화는 지방소멸위험도가 ‘소멸주의단계’에서 ‘소멸위험진입단계’로 전환될 때 가장 큰 침체를 보였다. 결과적으로 인구 특성이 반영된 지방소멸위험지수의 변화가 지역의 음식점 개⋅폐업에 영향을 주고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 지방소멸과 관련된 분석은 시군의 하위 단위인 읍면동 수준에서도 진행되어야 한다. 또한 인구감소에 대한 예산 집행과 정책 수립도 읍면동 수준에서 고려되어야 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of changes in the value of the local extinction risk index on the increase or decrease in the number of restaurants in the region. The local extinction risk index is a value derived by the local population characteristics. Therefore, the opening and closing of restaurants that are greatly affected by population changes are inevitably highly related to the risk index of local extinction. As a result of the analysis, the risk index of local extinction showed no correlation with the change in the number of restaurants at the Si and Gun level. However, in the Eup, Myeon, and Dong units, the number of restaurants and the risk index of local extinction showed a correlation. In particular, the change in the number of restaurants showed the greatest downturn when the risk of local extinction was shifted from the “stage of extinction” to the “stage of entry into the risk of extinction.” As a result, it was confirmed that the change in the risk index of local extinction reflecting the characteristics of the population was affecting the opening and closing of restaurants in the region. Therefore, the analysis related to local extinction should be conducted at the level of Eup, Myeon, and Dong, which is the lower unit of the Si and Gun. In addition, budget execution and policy establishment for population reduction should be considered at the level of Eup, Myeon, and Dong.
