Abstract
Since the era when a dance knowledge system was formed by a distinction between 'doing (creation)' and 'seeing (appreciation)', social attention has been fo- cused on dance knowledge formed by body knowledge, and an educational neces- sity has been raised. This study aims at exploring the formation of dance knowl- edge along with its significance and thus it explored the role of dance knowledge in a social sense with dance experience knowledge as its subject. Dance experi- ence is a process and cognitive action of recognizing the world. In addition, un- like other disciplines, knowledge is created and accumulated as cognitive action progresses through the body. In this context, the functions of dance knowledge in the knowledge world were explored, which led to the following conclusions. Dance experience is not just a sense captured by a part of the body, but it also identifies, (perceives), classifies, conceptualizes, and generalizes (recognizes) it as a subject. As such, the knowledge of dance experience spoken by a body that feels and thinks is formed by voluntary participation and body memory through a dance recognition process. Rather than naming a type or type of dance, the dance education system in the knowledge world uses the world that is to be encountered through dance experi- ence as its content, and its educational structure focuses on what kind of relation- ships it is to observe and discover in the participation experience. Also, dance in a cultural context is an indicator and representation of changed human behavior, and acts as a knowledge system that discriminates and thinks about what we need to implement in the future. Experience knowledge embodied in dance within such contexts is an image of human behavior or thoughts (judgment) formed in culture, pursuing detachedness through immersion that focuses on composure and senses (feeling) that improve behavior while maintaining one's self-esteem, and expanding dance knowledge to observe, sympathize with, and consider relationships in different worlds within systems of self-reflection and participation.
