Abstract

This study aimed to ‘Evaluative Factors in University Dance Curriculum’ to improve the quality of university dance curriculum. To this end, it used the CIPP evaluation model, which consists of the stages of context-input-process-product to systematically explore the evaluation factors. First, to understand the status of university dance education, the study exam- ined and analyzed the dance departments of 4-year universities across the country and the educational goals of each and considered concepts and components of curriculum and educational evaluation theoretically. Second, through previous research on the CIPP evaluation model, this study derived main evaluation factors for each stage of the CIPP evaluation model, con- text—input—process—product. Additionally, it conducted an open-ended survey on 10 experts to obtain expert opinions for the evaluation factors of university dance curriculum. Finally, by combining prior studies and expert opinions, the study created a va- lidity survey of evaluation factors for university dance curriculum at each stage of the CIPP evaluation model. Third, the validity of the evaluation items and factors was verified by 10 experts and the study reliability through the content validity of the evaluation items and factors and validity investigation was secured. The evaluation factors derived from this study are expected to contribute to improving the overall quality of university dance curriculum through providing important basic data for developing university dance curriculum evaluation index.
