考查關漢卿的『胡蝶夢』里出現的問題意識

중국 원나라 때 극작가이자 연출가인 關漢卿은 公案劇인 『胡蝶夢』을 창작하였다. 『호접몽』은 曲辭가 처량하면서 구슬퍼서 사람을 감동시키는 작품이다. 이 작품은 힘없는 소시민이 권문세가의 횡포 아래 우발적인 살인자가 되어 소송사건에 휘말리게 되는데, 청렴하고 공평한 包待制가 이 사건을 판결하는 내용을 담고 있다. 포대제는 효성스런 王氏의 세 아들과 어진 王老婆를 救命하기 위해 고심하다가, 마침내는 호접몽을 하늘의 계시로 받아들이고서 소송사건을 해결하는 데 치력한다. 작가는 꿈을 통해 사건을 해결하는 형식을 취하고 있지만, 이 작품은 元代 상류계급 권문세가의 비리와 윤리적 모순을 고발하고 있어 문학사적 측면에서 시사하는 바가 많다. 본고는 공안극인 『호접몽』의 내용을 고찰하고 그 속에 내포된 문제의식을 몇 가지로 정리해 보았다. 그것은 첫째 권문세도가의 극악무도한 횡포를 고발한 측면, 둘째 인간의 힘으로 해결할 수 없는 소송사건을 사물에 기탁하여 해결한 점, 셋째 권세가들의 극악무도한 행위를 세상에 드러내어 비판을 가하고 선량한 백성들이 편안하게 살아갈 수 있도록 정의로운 사회를 구현하고자 한 점, 넷째 불합리한 국법을 집행하는데 한계성이 보인 점 등이다. 이러한 것은 작가가 공안극을 통해 상류사회의 부덕도한 행위를 만백성 앞에 드러내어 비판을 가하고, 선량한 자가 악한 자를 물리치고 승리하다는 결론을 내리고 있어, 궁극적으로 정의로운 사회가 실현되기를 소망한 것으로 보인다.
Abstract
Guanhankyung(關漢卿) who is dramatist and director wrote the 『Hudiemeng(胡蝶夢)』. The words of a song of 『Hudiemeng(胡蝶夢)』 is so sad that the audience can be attracted by the lyrics. The import of a story is like this: Under the despotism of a man of power, a good petit bourgeois man interjection into a murder case. And Daizhi(government service)Bao(包待制), who is integrity and fairness, takes charge of this murder affair. He applies his mind to save the wang's brothers and their mother’s lives. After He took a dream’s advice, he exchanged the life of thief Zhaowanlu(趙頑驢) for the life of Gebiao(葛彪). Thus, He takes an opportunity for success in life. Though the drama brings the affairs to an amicable settlement, it shows us the contradiction of social system and ethics in Yuan dynasty. I arranged a few critical mind in 『Hudiemeng(胡蝶夢)』. The first, Prosecution for the despotism of a man of power, the second, Leaning upon an affairs to external objects, the third, The realization of a just society for the good petit bourgeois men, the four, Abilities of government service are limited. A dramatist wanted to come true his justice throughout the drama which shows us strong criticism of immoral conduct in polite society and the triumph over adversity in righteousness.
