Abstract
This article was written to consider the poems contained in the 『Youngeum(瀛吟)』 of a collection of poems written by Cheongsimong Lee Yoo Kyung (1748-1818), a Gengi Namin bureaucrat who lived in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Lee Yoo-kyung was Chae Jae-Gong(蔡濟恭)'s nephew who actively participated in Chae Jae-Gong's a poetical meeting and served in the government for 46 years throughout the three generations of King Yeongjo, Jeongjo, and Sunjo. Lee Yoo-kyung's collection of poems, 『Young-eum』 is a two-book manuscript that included 523 poems created by Lee Yoo-kyung, who was appointed as vice minister of Gangneung in June 1805 and appointed to Gangneung after his term in January 1808, returned to Seoul in January 1808 and was appointed as pastor of Yeoju in July 1809 (Sunjo 9). 『Yeongeum』 is the only book that can explore Lee Yoo-kyung's poetry literature, and is valuable in that it can examine the government life and political reality of Gengi Namin bureaucrats in the first half of the 19th century, and the lives and circumstances of the people in Gangneung. The aspects of the poems 『Yeongeum』 were examined by dividing it into loving for the people, the heart of the bureaucracy who lost power, the heart of longing, and hope of retire and compassion for people's lives. Through the 『Yeongeum』, it was confirmed that Lee Yoo-kyung was a poet who enjoyed writing poetry using various types of corpses, and that he continued the trend of poetry literature of Gengi Namin.
