Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analysis a effect of dominant and non-dominant leg between male and female university student majoring in judo during the cutting performance. 11 males(age = 21.11 ± 0.79 yrs, weight = 77.33 ± 5.07 kg, height = 1.75 ± 0.04 m, career = 8.56 ± 1.23 yrs), 11 females(age = 21.33 ± 1.30 yrs, weight = 66.39 ± 9.22 kg, height = 1.65 ± 0.05 m, career = 8.33 ± 1.53 yrs) university judo players participated in this study, without any serious musculoskeletal problems for 1 year before the study. The peak ground reaction force and time variables were collected by force plate(OR6-7-1000, AMTI, Inc, Watertown, MA, USA, sampling rate: 1000Hz) and were compared between dominant and non dominant leg during the cutting performance by two-way repeated measures ANOVA(2 gender X 2 leg supported condition). The women performed with a greater second vertical and lateral peak force with dominant leg, a greater first vertical and lateral peak force with non-dominant leg than the men did. Additionally, the women demonstrated a greater first peak vertical force, first peak lateral force and a rapid onset of the high vertical and lateral ground reaction force during the cutting performance. Therefore, female university student majoring in judo exhibited ground reaction force components believed to increase lower extremity joints injury rate.
