기존 미학의 존립근거이자 우리 삶의 유의미한 경험인‘미적경험’은 철저하게 ‘몸의 사건’에서 출발함에도 불구하고 예술적 가치에서의 미학 즉, 미술적 가치에 치중한 나머지 오랜 철학적 전통 속에서 몸이 미학의 핵심영역으로 인식된 적은 별로 없는 편이다. 더구나 문화적으로 구성된 태권도하는 몸의 미적인 가능성, 혹은 기능성을 근본적으로 탐구하려는 시도조차 없었다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 슈스터만이 제시한 몸미학(somaesthetics)에 관한 이론적 틀을 토대로 태권도하는 몸의 미학적 가능성을 탐구하고자 한다. 태권도 몸미학은 태권도 미학에서 다루지 못한 몸을 미적 가치와 창조의 대상으로 다룰 뿐만 아니라, 다른 모든 미적인 대상, 그리고 통상 미적인 것으로 여겨지지 않는 문제들을 좀 더 고양된 방식으로 다루는 중요한 감각적인 매개체로 여긴다. 무엇보다도 일반적 미의 기준에 포함되지 않았던 기획들을 언급함으로써, 태권도 수련속에 포함된 스포츠성, 무도성, 명상적인 수행들, 심신요법들을 포함하여 자기인식과 극기(self mastery)라는 철학적 기획들을 발췌해 낼 수 있다는 점은 태권도 몸미학이 기존 미학의 협소한 한계를 위협하고 깨뜨린다는 것을 의미한다.
Abstract
Although its departure is based on ‘body movement’, ‘esthetical experience’, the foundation of current esthetics and significant experience of our life has been not much perceived as a core part of somaesthetics via philosophical tradition of sports because of biased stereo type perception, esthetics as an artistic value. Therefore, the potentiality or function of somaesthetics need to be fundamentally considered through taekwondo. The purpose of this study was to analyze the first, definition of somaesthetics, the second, the mutual relationships of taekwondo and somaesthetics, and the third, three dimensions of somaesthetics, and lastly, the validity taekwondo and somaesthetics based on the shusterman's somaesthetics theorie.
