『치악산』에 수용된 고전소설의 갈등 구조: 구부(舅婦) 갈등을 중심으로

Abstract

Existing discussions saw Chiaksan as related to the family novels of classical novels. This is because Chiaksan shows the conflict between the stepmother and the child of the ex-wife, and the conflict between the wife and the concubine. However, this is the result of paying attention to the similarity of simple motifs. The similarity between Chiaksan and classical novels can be found in the narrative structure of the conflict. This article specifically revealed its aspect through a comparison with SukyeongNangjaJeon. The narrative structure of Chiaksan and SukyeongNangjaJeon is similar in that the female protagonist of noble birth, conflict between father and son next conflict between father-in-law and daughter-in-law, father-in-law killed daughter-in-law because of her dissatisfaction, the female protagonist chooses suicide, the reunion of the couple and the replacement of the patriarch at the end of the story. The reason for this can be found in that the two works overlapped with the period when they were enjoyed, and that the readers of the time who seek fun overlap in that they are popular novels. However, in Chiaksan, the dual world, which is an unrealistic element of classical novels, is not revealed. However, the unrealistic element of classical novels has been replaced by chance. The unrealistic element of classical novels is meaningful in that it gives the female protagonist activeness, raising problems with the order at the time and causing cracks. On the other hand, the coincidence of Chiaksan makes the female protagonist disappear from the literary scene, and is only consumed to reveal the slogan of enlightenment. Although the new novel put forward new, Chiaksan accepts and transforms classical novels in terms of narrative structure, which may be evidence that the new novel remains within the influence of classical novels.
