‘피지컬 드라마’를 통한 공연예술 활성화 방안 연구: <로미오와 줄리엣>을 중심으로

본 연구는 코로나19로 인해 침체된 공연예술을 활성화 할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 언택트 시대에 언어위주의 공연이 가지고 있는 문제와 한계점을 파악하고 신체연극의 필요성을 제시함으로써 포스트드라마 이후 공연예술의 변화와 흐름을 파악하였다. 또한 한국에서는 비주류 장르로 머무르고 있는 신 체연극의 한계와 문제점들을 살펴보았다. 텍스트연극과 신체연극의 문제점을 보완하여 만든 새로운 형식의 연극 피지컬 드라마 <로미오와 줄리엣>의 공연화 과정을 통해 고전을 재해석하고 텍스트를 공연 텍스트화 하는 과정 그리고 새로운 공연을 구성하는 방 식을 제시하였다. 또한 피지컬 드라마를 구성하는 메이어홀드의 신체 에쭈드가 배우교육 뿐 아니라 공연의 확 장성을 가져올 수 있는 매개체로서의 가능성과 가치를 보게 되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 피지컬 드라마 <로미오와 줄리엣>을 통해 교육적 활용방안을 제시하고 더 나아가 다 양한 형태의 공연을 제작하여 코로나 시대에 공연예술계의 위기를 극복하고 활성화할 수 있는 방안을 마련하 고자 한다.
Abstract
This study aims to find ways to revitalize performances and arts that have been stagnated due to Covid-19. This researcher tried to identify the problems and limitations of language-oriented performance, and suggest the necessity of physical theater in the untact time. As a result, could apprehend the changes and flow of performing art after the post-drama. In addition to this, this researcher examined the limitations and problems of physical theater, which remain as non-mainstream genre in Korea. Based on this, this researcher suggested the process of reinterpreting the classics and converting text into performance texts and a method of composing a new performance through the performance process of the new type of physical drama, <Romeo and Juliet> that complements the problems of textual plays and physical plays. There are some possibility and value of Mayerhold's physical etude, that constituted of physical drama as a medium. Mayerhold's physical etude can help actor’s education and encourage scalability of performance Therefore, through the physical drama Romeo and Juliet, This researcher intend to present a meth- od for educational application, furthermore try to come up with a plan that can overcome and re- vitalize the crisis of the performance and art world in the corvid-19 time by producing various types of performances
