인공지능(AI) 기술과 성능이 가파르게 성장하고 그 응용 범위가 점차 확장됨에 따라 모든 산업 분야에서 AI 의 활용에 대한 관심이 증폭되고 있다. 특히 예술교육계에서는 생성형 AI 서비스가 미술, 음악, 문학, 사진, 영상 등 문화예술 분야에서 보여준 독보적인 성과와 여러 사례를 토대로 생성형 AI의 문화예술교육적 접근 및활용에 대한 실제적 연구를 치열하게 전개하고 있다. 이에 따라 무용, 미술, 음악, 문학 등 각 예술교육 분야에서 생성형 AI 기반의 다양한 수업 모델을 제시하고 있지만, 아직 연극교육 분야에서는 생성형 AI에 대한 연구및 결과가 미비한 실정이다. 이러한 맥락에서 연극교육 분야에서의 생성형 AI의 교육적 활용에 대한 이론과실제에 대한 구체적인 논의가 제시될 필요가 있다. 이에 본고는 대학 이상의 고등교육기관의 연극 제작 수업에서 생성형 AI를 실제로 적용하고, 실제 사례를통해 연극 제작 수업에서의 생성형 AI의 활용 가능성과 한계를 탐색하는 것에 목표를 둔다. 이를 위해 먼저 예술교육과 생성형 AI라는 주제로 생성형 AI가 예술교육에 미친 영향과 생성형 AI 기반 예술교육 선행연구 사례를 간략히 살필 것이다. 이후 연극 제작 수업에서의 생성형 AI의 활용 가능성을 탐색하고 한계점을 논하기 위해 생성형 AI를 활용한 연극 제작 수업의 실제 사례를 기존 연극 제작 수업 분석, 수업대상 및 수업 설계, 수업 실행 및 평가의 단계로 나누어 면밀히 살펴볼 것이다.
Abstract
As artificial intelligence (AI) technology and its performance continue to grow rapidly, and as its range of applications expands, there is increasing interest in utilizing AI across all industries. In particular, the field of arts education is actively engaging in practical research on the educational approach and application of generative AI, based on its remarkable achievements and various examples in the cultural and artistic fields such as visual arts, music, literature, photography, and film. Consequently, various instructional models based on generative AI have been proposed in arts education areas such as dance, visual arts, music, and literature. However, research and results regarding generative AI in theater education remain insufficient. In this context, there is a need for specific discussions on the theoretical and practical educational applications of generative AI in the field of theater education. Therefore, this paper aims to explore the potential and limitations of using generative AI in theater production courses at higher education institutions, by applying generative AI in an actual theater production class and examining a case study of its use. To achieve this, the paper will first briefly review the impact of generative AI on arts education and previous research cases of generative AI-based arts education under the theme of "Arts Education and Generative AI." Following this, the paper will closely examine the practical application of generative AI in theater production classes by analyzing existing theater production courses, course design and target audience, and the implementation and evaluation of the cours.
