Abstract

This study focuses on exploring the emotional impact of Chinese travel videos created by Korean YouTubers on cultural education among Korean audiences, as well as its influencing factors. In the context of globalization, with China's growing global influence and the popularity of YouTube, Korean audiences' access to China-related videos has increased. These videos not only have the potential to promote mutual understanding through cultural education but also may be affected by factors such as cultural discount, stereotypes, and media influence, which in turn shape audiences' emotional responses. The research combines quantitative and qualitative analysis methods, including video com ment analysis, case studies, text mining, and regression model analysis (XGBoost and Random Forest), to systematically examine emotional response patterns and influencing factorswithin the framework of cul tural education. The results show that Korean audiences' overall emotional responses tend to be pos itive, with particularly prominent positive reactions to videos related tocultural exchanges and tradi tional cultural experiences(key carriers of cultural education), whereas negative responses are relatively higher in videos on historical or political topics. In terms of influencing factors, YouTubers' credibility and algorithm-based personalized recommendations play important roles in inducing positive emotions thatenhance cultural education effects, while historical conflicts and stereotypes are identified as major triggers of negative responses. Tree-based models, especially XGBRegressor, exhibit excellent perform ance in predicting emotions with high explanatory power. This study not only provides a theoretical basis for understanding emotional response mechanisms in cross-cultural communication but also offers practical value: it helps content creators develop strategies that emphasize authenticity and cultural in clusiveness to optimizecultural educational content, and assists platform operators in refining algorithms to better manage user emotions. Overall, it contributes to improving the quality and educational impact of Chinese travel videos in cross-cultural contexts.
