Abstract
This study focused on comparing the factors influencing the competitiveness of the Korean-Chinese pop industry using the Michael Porter 'Diamond Model' as a theoretical framework. This study examines the current status of the Chinese pop music industry through the successful ex perience of the development of the Korean pop music industry, and suggests a development plan to increase the competitiveness of the Chinese pop music industry. The Korean pop music industry has grown into competition in the same industry as production factors, demand factors, related industries and support industries, and corporate strategy structures. This was possible through a mature trainee system, creation of multicultural convergence contents, global market demand, and strong technical support. On the other hand, the Chinese pop music industry has huge market potential and abundant cultural resources, but it is lacking in various fields such as a talent training system, market operation mechanism, creative content dissemination, and brand construction. Based on these findings, this study suggested a series of practical measures tailored to the Chinese pop music industry in terms of improving production factors, creating demand factors, and increasing government support, based on Michael Porter's theory.
