초록
Geunrojeongshindae, the Korean woman laborers virtually forced and cheated into working in the Japanese military armaments factory in the Japanese colonial period, have been interpreted similarly as the Korean comfort women meaning the sexual slaves on the front lines. However, the victims, with all the types and extent of their damage, should be the evidence how much pains the ruin of a country gives its people. This paper compares some phenomena related to the comfort women and the female laborers epistemically based on the difference that Korea and Japan understand in treating other victims of compulsory manpower draft, mostly males. The Korean Supreme Court judges their claims for damages favorably against the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and the New Nippon Steel of war criminal enterprises on October 30 and November 29 of 2018. During the legal dispute, the effect of the Korea-Japan Claims Agreement in 1965 and the legal prescription period were discussed, which were applied to the trial process of the female victims. Through the analysis, all the three victims' mental and physical damages can be considered to the same because the assailant is the Japanese Empire. Not hoping that both the Governments seek package settlement soon, I argue that the Koreans, including North Korea and its people, should go to the unification, because the separation is almost the same as the collapse by seeing the victims.
