Abstract
This article delves into the differences of Koreans and Japanese in their anger and theiranger expressions by comparing the two people’s cultural features and political economicvariables. The western centered cultural analyses identify Korea and Japan as having a similarcultural pattern, despite some differences. Thus, Korean and Japanese could be expected tohave a similar way of feeling and expressing anger. Researches are confirming, however, that the two people differ, that the Japanese control their anger and refrain from expressinganger to others or society whereas the Koreans are relatively more sensitive to anger andexpress it directly. The two may seem to share a same cultural pattern, but there were quitesome number of differences in the behavioral patterns and organizational patterns. Differenthistorical and political experiences and incidents further enlarged the existing gaps. Thedifference of the severity in anger between Koreans and Japanese, moreover, seems to bethe effects of the different political economic environment that they are situated in.
