Abstract

This study is to confirm the longitudinal effectiveness of the parenting style on the adolescents' satisfaction of entering school. The data used in this study is the first, fourth, and seventh one of 'the Korea Child & Youth Panel Survey' data of National Youth Policy Institute. For the longitudinal study, the meaningfulness of the initial value, slope, and covariance of parenting style is confirmed through latent growth modeling and linear growth estimation is confirmed through this. In addition, the effect of parenting style on the adolescents' satisfaction of entering school is confirmed by establishing conditional model using the adolescents' satisfaction of entering school as a variable. The conclusions from this study were as follows. First, the initial value and change rate of parenting style showed static change, and covariance showed a negative value. This suggests that, as time goes by, the understanding of youth who recognized negative parenting style was changed positively rather than that of youth who recognized positive parenting style, at an early stage. Second, the initial value of parenting style has a static effect on the adolescents' satisfaction of entering school. In particular, the fact that the C.R value is static confirmed that the more positive the understanding of initial parenting style is, the greater it influences the satisfaction of the adolescents' satisfaction of entering school. Third, the change rate in parenting style has a static effect on the adolescents' satisfaction of entering school, which demonstrates that parenting style has a longitudinal impact on the adolescents' satisfaction of entering school, Finally, suggestions for future research are included.
