본 연구에서는 북한이탈여성이 남한에서 경험하는 차별 경험과정을 깊이 있게 이해하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 남한에서 차별을 경험하였고 거주한지 2년 이상의북한이탈여성 12명에 대한 심층면담을 실시하였고, Strauss와 Corbin(1998)의근거 이론적 방법을 적용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 자료를 분석한 결과, 총 130 개의 개념, 55개의 하위범주, 26개의 상위범주가 도출되었다. 패러다임 분석결과, 무시하는 느낌이 듦, 울분이 쌓임이라는 중심현상이 도출되었으며, 사회관계적 배제, 노골적인 모욕, 고용 불평등이라는 인과적 조건과 심리적 고통이큼, 서로에 대한 편견이 큼, 사회문화적 차이, 적대적 북한관계, 사회적 경쟁관계라는 맥락적 조건이 나타났다. 또한 작용 / 상호작용 전략으로는 인내하기, 주장하기, 생각 전환하기, 노력하기, 노출수위 조절하기, 지지구하기가 사용되는것으로 관찰되었고, 결과로는 차별사건에 대한 태도가 긍정적으로 변함, 차별사건에 대한 태도가 부정적으로 변함, 강인해짐, 북한사람 정체감이 강해짐, 남한사람에 대 한 신뢰 가 감소함이 나타났다. 차별과정을 시간의 흐름에 따라분석한 결과, 차별인식 단계, 모멸감과 울분단계, 인내와 내적노력단계, 소통과 외적대응단계, 변화와 예방단계로 나아가는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 ‘모멸감을견디고 부당함을 개선하며 나아가기’가 핵심범주로 도출되었다. 이상의 결과를바탕으로 북한이탈여성 차별과 관련된 시사점을 논의하였고 추후연구에 대한제안을 하였다.
Abstract
North Korean women defectors in South Korea. Twelve North Korean women refugees who experienced discrimination after 2years residing in South Korea were interviewed and their answers were analyzed using grounded theory by Strauss & Corbin(1998). As the result, the collected data rendered 130 concepts and 55 sub-categories which was deduced to 26 categories. The following are the key categories resulted by the paradigm axial coding. The central phenomenon were feeling of being neglected and growing pent-up anger. The casual conditions were social-relational exclusion, downright insult, and employment inequality. The context conditions were high psychological distress, high mutual prejudice, socio-cultural difference, hostile relationship with the North, and social competition relationship. The Action/ Interaction strategies were enduring, asserting changing the thought, endeavoring, controling the level of openness. and getting support. The end result were getting positive to discrimination, getting negative to discrimination, being stronger, increase of North Korean identity, and lost of trust for South Korean. By carrying out the course analysis through the paradigm, five stages of discrimination experience were identified: discrimination awareness, contempt and pent up anger, endurance and inner effort, communication and external coping, and change and prevention. The core category ' Making a way with bearing contempt and improving injustices' were deduced from the data. Finally, implications and suggestions for discrimination toward North Korean women and further study were discussed.
