본 논문은 무신론에 기반 하여 그것의 ‘실존체계’를 마련하고 독창적 사유의 틀을 확립한 사르트르의 ‘무신론적 실존사상’을 논구했다. 또한 그러한 과정에서 기왕에 수용된, 프로테스탄트를 아우르는 ‘반기독교’적 표현의 적합성에 관한 논의, 즉 ‘무신론적 실존’에 은폐되어 가려진 진의를 찾고자 노력했다. 이를 위해 먼저, 실존사상의 본질과 특색, 그리고 그 한계를 정리해 나감으로써 사유의 편력과정을 살폈다. 그리고 무신론적 실존의 본질을 구상 혹은 구성하는 과정에서, 사르트르가 기획하고 선택한 구체적 인간인 성자에 관한 혐오스러울 만큼의 각별한 관심은, 가톨릭의 ‘성자’라는 비성서적 응집체가 무신론과의 밀접한 종속적 상관성에 놓일 수 있다는 개연성을 확보했다. 아울러 또 다른 하부 원인자를 들어 문제제기에 따른 논리를 보완했다. 그것은 패자승 전략에 기인한 성자-부르주아 도식과정에서의 성자에 대한 혐오감, 그리고 세분화 된 부르주아-성자의 분담 도식화과정으로, 이 같은 가톨릭 ‘성자’와의 연계과정은 무신론적 실존의 원류에 대한 재고를 요청한다. 사르트르의 종교성, 다시 말해 무신론적 실존에 은폐된 담론의 진의를 지적했던 본 논문은 적지 않은 한계를 갖는다. 이는 보다 방대한 실증적 확인을 요하는 민감한 연구과제일 수밖에 없기 때문이다. 당시 프랑스 종교문화를 압도적으로 주도했던 가톨릭의 영향권아래, 조부의 무신론 사상에 대한 강한 주입은 그가 마련한 무신론적 실존사상의 체계와 무관하지 않을 것이라 생각된다. 더욱이 그것은 특정 종교 인자로부터 발행한 불편함이기에 더욱 그럴 것이라 추측된다.
Abstract
This study intended to discuss the ‘Atheistic Existentialism’ of Sartre who developed the ‘existential system’ of atheism based on atheism and established the framework of the creative reason. This study also intended to discover the true intension concealed by ‘atheistic existence’, the discussion about the appropriateness of ‘anti-christian’ expressions that had been accepted and encompassed protestants. For this, this study examined the wanderings in the world of reasoning by summarizing the nature, characteristics, and limitations of the existentialism. The detestably particular concern for the saint, the specific human being that Sartre devised and chose, secured the probability that the unbiblical aggregate called the catholic ‘saint’ can have a close subordinate interrelationship with atheism in the process of conceiving or constituting the essence of atheistic existence. The logic for problem posing was supplemented through other sub-causers. This is the process of schematizing the disgust toward saint in the saint-bourgeois schematization based on the “lower wins” strategy and more subdivided bourgeois-saint division, and the tie to the catholic ‘saint’ requests for the reconsideration of the origin or atheistic existence. This study had a number of limitations in the attempt to discover the religiosity of Sartre, the true intension concealed by ‘atheistic existence’ for it is a sensitive topic that requires vast empirical verification. The strong injection of atheism by his grandfather while catholicism led the religious culture of France at the time must had influenced the system of atheistic existentialism he developed, more so for it was the inconvenience that came from a specific religious factor.
