Abstract
Looking at how the leprosy disease is perceived in the narrative through the leprosy disease type narrative, which has been the object of hatred to humans, it does not simply deal with the problem of disease. Depending on whether the patient with leprosy disease is a male or a female, the method of healing the disease or the healer of the disease appears differently. When a man appears as a patient in the leprosy disease story, a woman who carefully cares for the man is highly regarded as a ‘virtue women’. Although she shows a bold appearance as a tenacious woman, on the one hand, both men and women can be said to be the weak who are alienated from their families. This type of narrative is that men and women are recognized as couples and can be incorporated into family members due to the healing of women’s diseases. In the tale of leprosy, when a woman appears as a patient, she appears as a virgin. A woman abandoned by her family becomes a man who slept overnight and gets better. Of course, there are types of women who heal their own diseases, but there are also types that the man’s first wife takes care of. In this type, in addition to the sick woman, another woman appears as a healer. As such, the story of leprosy is narrated around marital relations, and emphasizes the ‘righteousness’ that is important in marital relations through the most hateful disease. In addition, by showing the process of being recognized as a family member, it can be meaningful in that it shows a family community different from the relationship between parents and children formed by blood ties.
