Abstract
The study of affective polarization has been actively conducted in the two-party system in the United States but recently studies on affective polarization have been actively conducted in other democracies including Korea. Most of the research focuses on analyzing the characteristics and causes of affective polarization and alternatives for resolving affective polarization are at an early stage. This study will focus on the characteristics and alternatives of affective polarization and examine the use of presidential leadership that can induce change under the premise that presidential leadership can be an alternative to resolving affective polarization. As an alternative to resolving the affective polarization in Korea it is through the formation of trust through vision presentation among the variables of transformation leadership the political ability of persuasion and compromise through bidirectional communication in terms of personal consideration and accurate diagnosis in the aspect of intellectual stimulation. We present an alternative to the leadership of President Yoon Seok-yeol in the future by utilizing identity change in a new and creative way.
