모빌리티 패러다임의 시선으로 본 1930년대 경성 : 박태원의 소설가 구보씨의 일일을 중심으로

Abstract

In this study, I analyzed Park Tae-won’s “A Day in the Life of a Novelist Gu Bo” from the perspective of John Urry’s new mobility paradigm. I explored the novelist Gu Bo’s personal memories and emotions, as well as the joys and sorrows and sentiments of an era, which are embedded in each fragmented location along Gu Bo's (仇甫氏) walking path in the city of Gyeongseong in the 1930s, through descriptions from various directions. In particular, among these new mobility paradigms, I analyzed the encounters and emotions within a place and during movement between places, focusing on “place,” “movement,” and “meeting.” This analysis revealed through the analysis of literary works that since there are moving objects and moving subjects, people are constantly circulating, that there is a social position (class), and that they form complex relationships with various objects, transportation, politics, economy, and culture in various places. So far, there have been few attempts to analyze and study literary works from the perspective of John Urry's mobility paradigm, one of the sociological perspectives. Based on the results of analyzing the concept and characteristics of mobility, which have been mainly discussed in sociology, in connection with a literary work, a new attempt that integrates humanities and sociology is needed to examine more literary works in the future.
