초록

This study investigated the optimal press forming conditions for producing racetrack-type speaker cone parts using AZ31B magnesium alloy. AZ31B alloy is very light, has high specific strength, and excellent vibration damping performance, and is considered a promising material to replace existing speaker cone materials, especially in audio applications where high sound quality is important. However, magnesium alloy is inherently brittle, making it difficult to form thin structures at room temperature. To overcome this limitation, this study performed experimental analysis and computer finite element analysis (CAE) simulations under various temperature and strain conditions to identify the optimal forming parameters. The study found that temperatures between 200°C and 300°C significantly improve the formability and reduce defect occurrence of laser-strike type speaker cone components, with higher temperatures in this range being optimal, especially for complex shapes. However, forming at elevated temperatures can lead to issues such as shortened mold life and decreased dimensional accuracy due to thermal expansion and material softening. To address these challenges, the study proposes guidelines for mold design, including thermal insulation and temperature control systems, to maintain consistent forming conditions and mitigate the effects of thermal expansion.
