열왕기와 역대기의 산헤립 담화 분석 - 히스기야 텍스트(왕하 18:14-16, 19:35-37과 대하 32:1, 21-23)에 나타난 관점(약속과 진실)에 따른 산헤립의 죽음의 의미를 중심으로

이 논문은 열왕기와 역대기의 산헤립 담화를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 히스기야 텍스트(왕하 18:14-16, 19:35-37과 대하 32:1, 21-23)가 선택되어 두 저자의 기술 관점을 먼저 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 산헤립의 죽음이 어떻게 비교되는지 제시한다. 이 목적을 위해 구문 분석(syntax analysis)과 담화 분석(discourse analysis)의 방법론이 사용된다. 제2장에서는 열왕기와 역대기의 두 저자가 자신의 저술 관점을 제시하는 텍스트가 각각 왕하 18:14-16, 19:35-37과 대하 32:1, 21-23임을 밝힌다. 제3장에서는 두 저자의 저술 방식이 무엇인지 구체적으로 밝힌다. 먼저, 열왕기 저자는 아하스와 히스기야를 비교하기 위해 ‘약속’ 모티프(motif)를 자신의 저술 방식으로 택하고, “조공 기사”(왕하 18:14-16)를 통해 본격적으로 히스기야와 산헤립을 비교한다. 다음으로, 역대기 저자는 ‘진실’ 모티프를 자신의 저술 방식으로 택하고, 그것으로 곧바로 히스기야와 산헤립을 비교한다. 그 후, 이 분석들을 종합하여 산헤립의 죽음을 비교한다. 먼저 열왕기에서는 산헤립에 대한 조공 약속을 잘 지킨 히스기야와 철수 약속을 안 지킨 산헤립을 비교한 뒤, 산헤립의 죽음은 약속을 지키지 못한 결과임을 보여준다. 즉, 약속을 잘 지킨 히스기야는 생명이 지속되고, 약속을 어긴 산헤립은 생명이 중단되는 결과를 초래했다는 것이다. 다음으로 역대기는 야훼의 역사적 신학적 진실성을 무시하고 비방한 결과로 산헤립이 죽었다고 말한다. 동시에 야훼께 대한 히스기야의 진실성 지속 여부에 의문을 제기하며 그의 죽음을 암시하고 있다. 제4장에서는 히스기야 텍스트에 대한 열왕기와 역대기 저자들의 차이점이 무엇인지 지금까지의 분석들을 정리한다. 결론에서는 산헤립의 죽음에 대한 열왕기 저자와 역대기 저자의 다른 저술 방식을 언급하고, 이 관점들은 “다른 시각”이 아니라 “상호 보완적인 시각”임을 제시한다. 결국 이 연구는 열왕기와 역대기를 정경적으로 이해하는 주석적 도움을 줄 것이다. 이를 통해 우리 시대에서도 어떻게 성경으로 성경을 해석해야 하는지에 대한 힌트를 얻을 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to analyse of Sennacherib’s discourse in Kings and Chronicles. For this reason, the Hezekiah texts (2 Kings 18:14-16, 19:35-37 and 2 Chr. 32:1, 21-23) are selected to analyze the two author’s descriptive point of view first, and based on this, it is propose how Sennacherib’s death is compared. Additionally, methodologies of syntax analysis and discourse analysis are used. In Chapter 2, it compares the composition of Hezekiah's texts in the Kings and the Chronicles, which introduces the differences of the interest between the two authors. Revealing the texts in which the two authors present their perspectives. In Chapter 3, it shows the writing style of them. First, the author of the Kings chooses the motif "promise" as his method of writing to compare Ahaz and Hezekiah, and then compares Hezekiah and Sennacherib in earnest through "tribute account" (1 Kings 18:14-16). Next, the author of Chronicles chooses the motif "truth" as his method of writing, and immediately compares Hezekiah to Sennacherib. In Chapter 4, it compares the death of Sennacherib. Firstly, the Kings compares Hezekiah who kept his promise of tribute to Sennacherib, with Sennacherib who did not keep his promise to withdraw, and shows that Sennacherib's death was the result of failing to keep his promise. On the other hand, Hezekiah who kept his promise, was allowed to live and Sennacherib who broke his promise, had his life interrupted. Next, the Chronicles says that Sennacherib's death was as the result of ignoring and slandering Yahweh's historical and theological truth. At the same time, it calls into question the continuation of Hezekiah's truthfulness to Yahweh and alludes to his death. In Chapter 5, it summarizes the analysis so far of the Hezekiah text on the differences between the Kings and Chronicle authors. In a conclusion, this refers to the different writing methods of the two authors on Sennacherib's death, suggesting that these perspectives are not "different perspectives" but "complementary perspectives." Ultimately, this study will provide exegesis help in understanding of Kings and Chronicles canonically. Also, we can get hints about how to interpret the Bible in our period.
