Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate teachers' perceptions and utilization of guidelines for organizing and operating local curricula, to identify areas for improvement, and to propose effective strategies for developing practical local curricula. The study surveyed 724 teachers in K Province, revealing that 74% of respondents utilized the guidelines for organizing and operating local curricula. However, the frequency of use was low, with department heads using them 1-2 times per month and regular teachers using them 1-2 times per year. Utilization was primarily concentrated in February and August, during curriculum planning periods. Teachers perceived the guidelines as somewhat abstract or complex and expressed a strong need for support, such as concrete resources and practical examples of lessons. Additionally, the study suggested the development of tailored guidelines that consider the characteristics of different school levels and subjects, improvements in the readability of the guidelines, and systematic training programs on curriculum development.
