Abstract

To promote the welfare of adoptees, the Korean government stipulates in the law provision of post-adoption services for domestic adoptive parents and domestic and foreign adoptees, but the people point out the lack of access to information on the post services, Improving experts’ awareness of adoption, and the need to reflect users' needs. Accordingly, this study aims to analyze the elements of post-service information provision by international adoption agencies and suggest applying them to the needs of domestic users. To this end, the study analyses previous studies interviewing domestic users, selects the top four countries with advanced child welfare among the countries that signed the Hague International Child Adoption Convention and analyzes post-service information elements on adoption agencies websites to derive implications. Adoption-related experts, the agencies should provide self-help groups, family search, and legal information by subject, region, and user to increase accessibility for users so they can make choices that suit their circumstances.
