초록
This research studies the phenomenon of folk religious tradition in Egypt through the perusal of Yahya Hakki’s novel Kandil Om Hashem, shedding light on the stylistic phenomena of Yahya Hakki as a distinctive writer. Depending on his fiction’s content and text, it focuses on how the author formed and employed such a phenomenon in his novel, and the extension of the expression and idea, as well as the author’s view of his contemporaries. This study reveals that Yahya Hakki tried to strongly express the importance of the Egyptian folk religious tradition and how Egyptians stick to it. This is indicated by the frequency of this phenomenon in the novel. This idea occupied more than half of it, which implies that the author was not just occupied by this idea, but even controlled by it. It was expressed throughout the novel in every possible way. Furthermore, the psychological content of folk religion phenomenon in Egypt was conveyed into language that can express what is inside the society.
